Centralized sewage treatment facilities are not only important engineering facilities for water pollutant emission reduction, but also a key unit of water pollutant discharge. In March 2020, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment announced a national list of centralized sewage treatment facilities with a design treatment capacity of 500 tons/day and above (the first batch), covering 5 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) of Shanghai, Fujian, Guangdong, Gansu and Ningxia Of 1172 centralized sewage treatment facilities. The list of centralized sewage treatment facilities nationwide (the second batch) is now published, covering 9654 centralized sewage treatment facilities in 26 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
