The service scope of Hanxi Wastewater Treatment Plant includes the western part of Hankou and the eastern part of Dongxihu Lake. The total service area is about 176.7km2.

The western part of Hankou is the western part of Hankou. Its catchment area is from Xinhua Road in the east, Hanjiang River in the south, Forehead Bay in the west, and Zhanggong Dike in the north. The service area is about 54.5km2.

The eastern area of Dongxihu District includes: Wujiashan, Jinyin Lake, Jinyintan (part of), Jinghe area and Baiquan area. The service area is about 122.2km2.

The Hanxi Sewage Treatment Plant was approved on July 1, 2002. The site of the sewage treatment plant is located in Lijiadun, Dongxihu District, and currently covers an area of about 298.2 mu. The current treatment scale of Hanxi Sewage Treatment Plant is 40×104m3/d in dry season and 80×104m3/d in rainy season. The sewage treatment plant adopts the A/O secondary biological treatment process, and after the treatment reaches the post-standard, it is discharged into the Fu River through the Lijiadun open channel.

Since the sewage treatment plant was completed and put into operation, it has significantly reduced the total amount of pollution discharged into the Fu River, played a key role in curbing the deterioration of the water quality of the Fu River and other water bodies, and achieved good environmental and social benefits.

Since most of the sewage treatment facilities in sewage treatment plants are open, sewage and sludge are sources of odor pollution, and a large amount of odor will be generated during the treatment process. The odor not only contains ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan and other general sewage plants The generated harmful and toxic gases, and also contain peculiar smell, these gases will cause harm to human body, environment and equipment if they are not processed. In order to prevent and avoid the impact of the odor of the sewage treatment plant on the lives of the surrounding residents, according to the "Urban Sewage Treatment Plant Pollutant Discharge Standard" (GB18918-2002), this project is equipped with deodorizing treatment facilities to treat the water that produces odor The treatment facilities are closed and the collected odors are treated to ensure compliance with discharge standards.
